Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am expecting an important call? Can I keep my phone?

Personal phones may not be accessed during an event. If you are expecting a call, it is not recommended to sign up for an event during that time window. In case of an emergency, you will be provided with an emergency contact number so that someone may get ahold of you in an emergency.

Can I bring a digital camera? What about a smartwatch?

While the events are designed primarily in public spaces and are not designed to be secretive, all technology should be left home for the best experience. We will take A photo. Please no smart watches, secret work phone, etc. If you are caught, you will not be able to attend another event.

Do I have to literally put my phone in a box?

Most people do, it keeps things simple. However you may leave it in your car or on your person if it is off and out of sight. If you are seen with it, you will not be able to attend other events. The box is a metaphor, but most find the actual physical separation from their phone to be helpful.

Do you really have a no-cancellation policy and why is it so strict?

It helps us to commit to vendors. We are able to get good prices due to our reputation of being on time, good stewards of the spaces and equipment, and reliability. (Cancellations, when applicable, go towards the snack budget.)

What if I have an idea of an activity?

You are always welcome to shoot an email over with any ideas as well as check out page that describes our events. If you are willing to help lead, we are more likely to be able to do the activity. Whenever possible, we love empowering members!

Can I bring my friend, family member, child, pet, own food/drinks?

Please check each event to see what is appropriate. We will always follow the safety recommendations of our partner groups regarding age, ability, and food/drinks.
